Broadview Media- Search Engine Optimization - SEO

Search Engine Optimization, SEO for short, is a process whereby web pages are optimized to make them more search engine "friendly." The SEO process can be extensive and includes comprehensive research, adding "keyword rich" meta tags to site pages; page title, keywords and site description (seen only by the search engines), image tags, modifications to page content the visitor sees, to name a few.

Broadview Media will help you get off to the right start by implementing the basic foundations of SEO. Once we implement the essentials you can monitor your rankings, and decide if you require additional SEO services or pay-per-click advertising.

Step 1 – Determine Key Words and Key Phrases

Keywords and key phrases are important factors in the overall search engine optimization process. It plays a vital role in the success of the search engine optimization strategy. Keywords and key phrases refer to the words the online searchers type on the search engines’ search boxes to look for something.

Your website needs the most relevant keywords and key phrases for your specific field or website theme. Wrong choice of keywords will dramatically lower your rankings. Keywords and Key Phrases need to match the content of your site for optimal results.

The key phrases will be distributed amongst your pages – not every key phrase will be used on each page since unnecessary use may lower a page’s ranking. If you feel that certain key phrases should be added or removed, please advise us, however, it should be noted that changes to these key phrases may lower a page’s ranking.

Step 2 – Crafting a title tag

The title of each page not only lets users know what they are looking at, it also helps determine how the web page will be ranked by a search engine. The title should include your company name, a brief title for the page, a brief tag phrase such as your company’s slogan, and a few choice keyphrases that relate to the page.

Step 3 – Meta Description

Like the title and keyphrases, a page’s description helps determine how it will be ranked by search engines. The description should be a few sentences in length and briefly describe your company, your goals, and your target audience.

Step 4- Implement Titles and Meta Tags

Broadview will add the appropriate Title, Meta Keywords, and Meta Description to each page in the website to be optimized for search engines.

Step 5 – Create a Sitemap

The purpose of a sitemap is to provide visitors with an alternative and perhaps faster method of finding a specific page or section within your website. The secondary purpose is to provide a single page where a search engine can reach every page within your website.

Broadview will create a sitemap linking all of your pages together, and implement in your site for maximum exposure to search engines.

Step 6 – Submit to the major indexes

A proper submission to a major index will not only greatly increase your chances of getting in, but also get many more hits than you would otherwise.

Broadview will submit to the most popular search engines including Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

Step 7 – Monitor Results

Due to competition amongst companies and within these engines, it could take any where from two weeks to six months for your site to be well "indexed" by the search engines. A general website optimization does not necessarily guarantee that you will be at the top or even on the first several pages. If you are not getting the results you desire you can participate in pay-per-click advertising or engage us for more advanced optimization services.

This sample report shows current page rankings including keywords associated with those pages. We use this type of report to monitor your SEO progress.
